Please take time to read this article by the UF Vet School about Katie B.’s horse, Sonny. He had a terrible injury last year, just a few days past our big Gala. It was devastating. We couldn’t comprehend what was happening, and even more important, what to do. I...
Games Rally April 5th Rally Invitation and Paperwork. Thanks,Amy BartonGames Secretary 2014Tuscawilla Pony Club
Hello Sunshine Region.
I am inviting all of our Athletes who are interested in training to come with me to the Olympic Training Center during March 3 through March 22. You can do all or any combination of days according to everyone’s spring breaks!
You will be trained by the Pentathlon Olympic Coaches and Staff. You can check them out at the US OLYMPIC WEB SITE.
This is the very beginning of the wonderful spring events that US Pentathlon and I are working on for our Youth Athletes. So weather you are a Pony Club Member or one of my Sunshine Pentathletes I am offering the discounted rate of $50 per day all inclusive. You are responsible for your own air fare. The forms you will need will be on the US OLYMPIC/Pentathlon site. I will be talking to anyone who is interested and handling your paperwork.
If you can’t make this training in Colorado call me to arrange for Private Training with Omar once he is back from the World Cup in Acapulco 3/3. All of our training camps will be counted toward points for those youth who would like to help with the WORLD CUP FINALS that will be held in SARASOTA FLORIDA IN JUNE! This should be a great time and lots of Goodies for our Athletes.
For more information call me at 321-287-9291.
Thanks to all the Athletes hard work and their Parents wonderful support!

5 months to Festival!Activities for Everyone in Clubs and Centers…Keeping Pony Club Fun…Have you thought of this?Discover at the D Level: Introduce Tetrathlon (running, swimming, shooting and show jumping) without the horse! Instead of the shooting phase, set up a bean bag toss and show members the swimming and running requirements. In Show Jumping, set up standards and have the least experienced riders simply learn the course and steer through the standards. No jumping required! Add a Mounted Game to every lesson. For example, weave the standards at the walk and learn to steer. At the club level, use your imagination to change the rules and make it fun.Connect at the C level: Do you remember your first rally? “We need WHAT?” Create a Junior Rally Leadership Program by naming an Upper Level mentor, in your club, who has been there and done that. This mentor can help your next rally team by preparing the rally trunk, required equipment and stall cards with the new members. There is no need for the mentor to attend the rally but help with all the planning and exciting build up of what to expect.Rally at the Regional Level: In Tet and Games, set up repeated practices around the Region for those people wanting to play on a team, even if your club or center does not play. Once a month until Festival would make 5 practices; twice a month would make 10 practices. In Quiz, set up a visit to the local hunt kennels and start your first Quiz prep. Most hunt kennels have a barn so ask if you can do a Mock Barn Phase.Wayne Quarles, Director of Activities
